The passive style of yoga known as Yin Yoga is growing in popularity. Intended to passively stretch muscle and connective tissue, yin yoga is beneficial in creating deeper range of motion in the joints, and activating the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system. But, is all yin created equal? Should everyone be practicing yin yoga?
In this workshop we will explore the theory of the yin practice, as well as look at some newer research on the passive stretching of muscle and connective tissue, and determine when yin is a good idea, and when one should avoid it.
This workshop will also include a yin practice (with safe modifications and variations for all participants).

Carrie has been teaching yoga for over 10 years, and has completed Advanced Yoga Teacher Training at the 500 hour level, as well as in person training with Paul Grilley, the "father" of modern Yin Yoga practice.
